Runner beans 5th September

The runner beans are still going strong even though the leaves are looking a bit yellow. We have had loads and loads of meals from them, just keep picking and they keep growing more!

The canes we had them growing up were too short
so put some string across and trained them to grow along it.

We have Runner Beans 15th July

Yes we have some runner beans at last
after a very shakey start when the slugs got at them.

I picked 4 of them today, and we had them raw with salad.

Runner Beans July 6th

We had a disaster with bugs and slugs with the first runner beans, I tried egg shells and everything, since putting down slug pellets I have not had any problems at all. This picture on 30th May..

..they are now growing along the top of the string 6th July..

Runner Beans eaten by bugs!

Well it is so disappointing, my runner beans have only been outside for 4 days and already they are being eaten by bugs.

I have put some broken egg shells round the base as they stop the slugs from getting near them.

Planted outside to grow on 11th May

I'm hopefully going to train them up the stakes!
